NeON Summer |
A six-week remote learning summer immersion program connecting New York City youth between the ages of 14 and 24 with paid learning opportunities designed to build skills to succeed in the workplace, strengthen community, and support young people and their families during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Facilitated by community-based providers who specialize in employment readiness, cultural enrichment, mentorship, educational opportunities, arts programming, and mental health/wellness services ---the program offers participants the opportunity to explore career interests, develop work-readiness skills, and express themselves creatively through learning experiences designed to strengthen social, civic, and leadership abilities. Is a nationally recognized program that offers high school and college students the opportunity to participate in paid professional summer internships with leading corporations, non-profit organizations, and government agencies in New York City. The program is an initiative of the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) and supported by the NYC Center for Youth Employment and the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City.Ladders for Leaders gives students a unique opportunity to explore their interests and discover new ones through: Receive help with résumé and cover letter writing, and interviewing skills. Learn essential workplace readiness skills and business etiquette. Paid internship opportunities available in a variety of industries to accommodate student interests.
