Amplify Youth Voices. Improve Our City.
Amplify is a tool to help a city’s youngest citizens weigh in on issues that impact our lives. By joining with other young people 13-24 to share our thoughts, opinions, and ideas about how to make our communities work better for us, we will make our voices too loud to ignore.
We are working with activist groups, city agencies, and community organizations to make our city a better place. When you contribute your thoughts, you can earn points to win cash prizes. Better yet, you can help make this city, our city. We need your perspectives to take action. We need your ideas to make change.

The Youth Ask Youth (Y.A.Y.) Census
This census was developed by over 300 NYC youth ages 13-24. It covers questions related to policing, jobs, food, internet access, experience with schooling, civic participation, health, COVID-19 specific questions and more. It allows you to reflect on your current experiences and to suggest creative improvements to the systems and services for young people in NYC. The first 200 young people between 13-24 to earn 40 points by filling out the census and/or referring friends will get a $25 gift card. We have over $5,000 to give away by June 30th! HindSight Conference: Friday, November 2, 2018 - Saturday, November 3, 2018
The two day-long event focused on diversity and social equity not solely as a topic of the conference, but as a lens through which all planning and community development should be implemented. Our panel discussed promising practices and tensions related to using a youth participatory approach (PAR) to engage communities in public policy and planning. We presented conference participants with Amplify -- the mobile, responsive tool currently being developed by and for youth. As part of our presentation, we invited session participants to consider how a tool that invites young people ages 13-24 to voice their concerns and weigh in on policy issues that impact their lives can contribute to city planning. |
